Life inferences from the movie SULLY!
*Spoilers ahead for the film SULLY*
There is this recent film that I saw — SULLY.
It is a real story on how the pilot made sure no one died as they did a landing in sea due to some unexpected casualty.
When the investigations went underway, the officers cited simulations and considered the move by pilot as not righteous and that he could have landed it safely on the airport.
Then they showed him the simulations.
On seeing it at trial, the pilot said, its not true since it doesn’t take in the “human factor”
When asked about the simulations, the officials said it took them 17 takes to do a perfect landing simulation on airport which the pilot did in one shot!
The pilot justified, they did not have to deal with the paraphernelia of the mind and the circumstances around and he did it what was best possible.
Further more the pilot told the officials to re-do the simulations test with slightly different parameters and it was seen what the pilot said was correct.
Now that was SULLY. Think now and relate this to your own life!
You cannot compare your own life problems to others. It is UNIQUE. What action you took, is the best you could take. At that point, with all the mind and thoughts you had, with all the past incidents and future plans you have. With all the dilemma in the present, it is the best you could do. It is foolish to label yourself as bad by comparing others on insufficient parameters. Put them also in the exact same situation from mind to body and everything around. Let the whole life experience descend and let the simulations run through them and then compare what they do. Then comparing would be justified. Otherwise comparing half baked simulations is a failed process. It is not evaluating you, it is putting you down.
I am not encouraging you are always right. But sometimes things are really jinxed and things don’t go well. They hurt a lot of people down the line. But with the entire paraphernelia around you, sometimes your actions are the best things that you could have thought of. Listen, It is okay. That’s it.
If you think that was bad, vow to repent it by doing more good, giving it back as 10 times more good. That’s not going to change things but may help you to forgive yourself. Forgiveness allows you to move ahead in life. Otherwise time and again regret and guilt stops you to take up things in life. They act as leech and you stop to learn and punish yourself.
Note that even doing good won’t stop bad things happening to you. It is how we take pills. It just relieves us of our current misery. It never guarantees lifetime good health. That is a function of continuous care.. Keep giving back good, reception is guaranteed by default..
So when life gets stuck, you need to respect your bad decisions and pray good ones happen.
If you cut a tree, not only plant a tree, but also nurture it to see it grow through.. Doing a bad thing is like cutting a tree.. and having a thought to do good is like sowing a seed..But simply planting seed won’t help. You need to nurture that seed with patience to see it through.
